With more than a decade of wellness experience, Alyse offers her expertise to patients, and counsels them on supplements, nutrition and various holistic remedies. She is passionate about health and wellness and enhancing quality of life through diet and holistic care.
In addition to being a Wellnicity Clinical Team Director, Alyse is a licensed acupuncturist in the states of Texas and California, and a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, the highest designation given by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is currently in the doctoral program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and is also a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine where she is actively undergoing the rigorous certification to become an IFM practitioner. She received her undergraduate education in North Carolina where she studied Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Eastern Studies and Chinese Language. Using this strong science and eastern education, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTOM) at the prestigious Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, California, and graduated in 2005 with Magna Cum Laude honors.
During her clinical internships at University of California at Los Angeles and the Venice Family Clinic, Alyse treated both children and adults struggling with mental health issues. This inspired her to specialize in treating psycho-emotional disorders such as insomnia, depression, anxiety, and attention disorders. Her passion for working with these disorders in combination with her expanding interest in neurotransmitters, and how they affect one’s brain and body, ultimately led her to join the Wellnicity team in Austin, Texas.
When not in the clinic, Alyse enjoys traveling, writing, yoga, live music and being outdoors with her husband and children.
